Welcome to my website. Some of you may be more familiar with me as Laurie, which is what all my friends call me.
I confess, I'm a happy-ever-after addict, which is why I read and write romance. Three elements I enjoy most in a book (besides the required happy ending) are long, steamy love scenes; witty banter; and romantic turmoil. Naturally, I include lots of heat, humor, and heart in all of my books, which I call sexy dramadies. Some stories lean more toward the dramatic side and others more toward the comedic, but there's always a bit of both.
Regrettably, I'm still just a gonna-be author, but I'm getting close to being published--especially after winning the GOLDEN HEART® award for the SECOND time with my book, The Memory of You. (see pictures) This is the highest honor an unpublished author can receive from Romance Writers of America. This book was also a finalist in 2004 under the title, Something Worth Remembering, when it was pitted against my book, A Little Bit of Deja Vu, which won my first Golden Heart. The Memory of You aka Something Worth Remembering was also a Romantic Times American Title I finalist.
I've recently been working on a red-hot romantic dramady / suspense that when I sell it (Note: I say WHEN and not IF) I plan to market under a different pseudonym. However, regardless of what I write, my main goal as an author is to entertain my readers whether it's through comical plot twists or simply with witty dialogue that I hope will make you smile. Whatever kind of story I'm inspired to tell, the main characters face their problems with a sense of humor and triumph through the support of their friends and family--whether they want help from them or not. And what makes it all so much fun is most of the time they don't.
So, if you love sassy dialogue, lots of steamy love scenes, and romantic drama filled with sinful secrets, keep your fingers crossed for me--and your toes, and your legs, and what the heck, your eyes, too. I need all the luck I can borrow to help get my novels published and on the bookstore shelves so you can read them!
